Ronald Edwards was born March 4, 1959 in Buffalo, New York to the late Joe and Josephine Edwards.

He accepted Christ at an early age at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Buffalo, under the leadership of Reverend S.K. Lewis. Through the years and life’s changes Ronald never abandoned his love of Jesus Christ and relied upon his strength until August 14th when he was called to his heavenly home.
Ronald was educated through the Buffalo public school system, graduating from school #53, Fillmore Middle and East High School. Years later Ronald attended Wayne College in Goldsboro, North Carolina earning his Associates degree in Microcomputer Systems Technology in 1996.
In 1979 Ronald Joined the United States Air Force, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas where he received his technical training as a refrigeration and air conditioning specialist utilizing this training until his honorable discharge. During his military service he was also stationed at Edwards AFB in California, Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada and Kusan AFB in South Korea.
Ronald married Kathleen Wolfe in 1983 and from that blessed union their son Ronald Jr. was born. He was indeed the apple of his dad’s eye, Ronald often spoke about his son and was proud of his creative talents. He often boasted about Ron Jr. artistic skills and would let you know, “he got it all from me”. Ronald was an accomplished artist in his own right, he loved to paint and create masterpieces, some of which were a little difficult to understand to the average person, however Ronald was happy to explain his far out concepts that still left the viewer scratching their heads.
Ronald met and married Susan Cheg, his very own African Queen in 2007, he adored her and she adored him, Susan always said he was her best friend and loved the life they made together. Traveling, visiting family, renovating their home, caring for their dog Safari and making Susan happy was his favorite pastime. He generally was a happy go lucky guy who loved his family dearly and was a devoted son to his mother, she meant the world to him. He also continued lifelong friendships with his childhood buddies whom he would seek out whenever he visited his hometown of Buffalo.
Ronald was employed in various positions, he worked for the federal government, the National Archives At Boston and CMC Maintenance , Inc. from 2017 until his health began to fail him in November of 2019.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father Joe Edwards, brothers Elmo, Joseph Louis, William and his Mother in-law Mary Chege. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Susan, son Ronald Jr. of Messa,
Arizona, stepson Brian Chege, Father in-law Micheal Chege of Nairobi, Kenya, his beloved mother Josephine Edwards of Buffalo, NY, sisters Sharon Denise Hunley, Doretha Edwards, brother Matthew Edwards (Cassandra) of Buffalo, NY. Sister in-law Theresa Njoroge of Lynn, MA, Annell Shaw of Buffalo, NY, nieces Katrina Jarrett (Paul), Covina Grimes (James), Jaivina Grimes, Ariel Barber of Buffalo, NY. Sharon Njoroge,
Delliyah Njoroge. Nephews Kevin Njoroge of Nairobi, Kenya, Hank Hunley Jr. (Kizzie), Rickey Hunley, (Janel) of Rochester, NY, Matthew Edwards Jr., Martez Edwards of Buffalo, NY.
His Memphis, TN and Chicago, Illinois family and a host of family and friends from Buffalo to Boston, Ronald truly loved you all.
