Obituary

Lillian Elizabeth White-Jones, affectionately known as Kitty passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at the Boston Medical Center, in Boston, MA following a brief illness, with family members at her side.
She was born on January 4th, 1952 along with her twin sister Josephine, affectionately known as Betty on the island of Montserrat in the village of Windy Hill. Kitty was the youngest of the twins; she was born a few minutes after her sister Betty with whom she maintained a close and loving bond throughout her lifetime.

In her youth, Kitty attended St. George's Primary School in Harris' Montserrat. Some years after school she moved to the island of Saba to work for Father William Lake for approximately 2 years. She returned to Montserrat and held a few occupations, but she was most remembered on the island for her role at John Wilson's Snackette in Plymouth.

Kitty had two sons which she adored, Jermaine and Dorian who blessed her with 5 grandchildren: Saleia, Jermaine Jr., Tevez, Ethan and A'va. She was the light of her grandchildren's eyes; the kids absolutely adored their grandma and looked forward to spending time with her.

Kitty emigrated from Montserrat to the United States and worked hard pursuing better opportunities for herself and her children. She had an upbeat personality and is well known for her sassy and candid spirit. She would jump at the chance to have friends over for an opportunity to cook them a meal; Pelau is one of her favorites.

Kitty’s greatest qualities were her trustworthiness and having a very kind and loving heart; she was always giving something to someone up until the very end. That was just her way and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Her life was a blessing to anyone that it touched. She lived a full, unapologetic life, to know her was to love her.

Lillian Elizabeth White-Jones leaves to mourn her sons: Jermaine and Dorian White, her twin sister Josephine "Betty" White, her eldest sister Eleanor "Queen" Allen; and her brothers Joseph "Sonny" White and John Buffonge. Also left to mourn are her five grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family members too numerous to mention.

May her soul Rest In Eternal Peace

Rest in Sweet Peace Mommy Kitty. I still have to bring my head around the fact that you are gone. But we know you are resting peacefully now with the Creator and that thought will comfort us all in the times to come. Thank you for the amazing lady you have been.

Kitty, we celebrate your life because you were so full of it. Your passing has left me in shock because I could always count on your phone calls to lift my spirit. You always had a story or joke to tell. Your sense of humor, your determination to do “it” your way
are a couple of the qualities that made you the woman you were - vibrant and unapologetic. Memories of you will live on through your sons and their families. May God give them the strength to carry on.
You always said, You do not want anyone to “cry over you.” So with that in mind, we celebrate you as we place you in the arms of the angels. Rest In Peace Cousin. Forever in our hearts! -Love “May”

Rest in Love, Kitty. Few words can describe a woman like you: strong, loving, humorous, and a one of a kind. You will be missed!
