He grew up in Dorchester, in a loving family with one sister, Laneisha Ellis. In the neighborhood, he was affectionately known to his friends and family as Man/Scoop, and his signature question was always “When & where is the next family get-together!” Man, valued family time and would often remind family members “We are family- not to sweat the small stuff!”

He attended John Marshall Elementary School in Dorchester, MA, and the Phyllis Wheatley Middle in Roxbury, MA. School in 1999. He went to the Jeremiah E Burke High School, in Dorchester, MA. He shifted focus and entered Job Corp in 2004, to pursue his General Education Development certification.

Man, had a smile and laugh that was contagious. He was a charismatic, loving, kindhearted, family oriented man with a love of collecting sneakers, and hats form his favorite clothing stores. He remained a focused, hard working, no nonsense single parent, even throughout his set-back, and challenges. You would often find him attending one of his son’s Pop Warner Football games, or engaging in other family orientated activities.

DeAngelo attended Mount Calvary Holiness Church, located in Dorchester, MA under the leadership of the late Bishop Nelly C. Yarbrough, where he was also baptized as a young child. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to his family, neighbors and co-workers.
