Obituary

DeAngelo Jermaine Taldon, was born on July 6, 1986 in Boston, MA, to Clarastine Ellis of Boston, MA, and the late Henry DeAngelo Taldon of Boston, MA. He grew up in Dorchester, in a loving family with one sister, Laneisha Ellis. In the neighborhood, he was affectionately known to his friends and family as Man/Scoop, and his signature question was always “When & where is the next family get-together!” Man, valued family time and would often remind family members “We are family- not to sweat the small stuff!”

He attended John Marshall Elementary School in Dorchester, MA, and the Phyllis Wheatley Middle in Roxbury, MA. School in 1999. He went to the Jeremiah E Burke High School, in Dorchester, MA. He shifted focus and entered Job Corp in 2004, to pursue his General Education Development certification.

Man, had a smile and laugh that was contagious. He was a charismatic, loving, kindhearted, family oriented man with a love of collecting sneakers, and hats form his favorite clothing stores. He had a big, giving and compassionate heart that was seen by all who knew him. In the recent years, he had become a vivid traveler, often posting pictures on social media to commemorate the experience.

When he recently loss his paternal grandmother to 2018, it ignited his determination to raise his children and create a better life for them. He recently gained sole custody of the two oldest children, and secured permanent housing in a neighborhood he felt was conducive to raise children. He remained a focused, hard working, no nonsense single parent, even throughout his set-back, and challenges. You would often find him attending one of his son’s Pop Warner Football games, or engaging in other family orientated activities.

DeAngelo attended Mount Calvary Holiness Church, located in Dorchester, MA under the leadership of the late Bishop Nelly C. Yarbrough, where he was also baptized as a young child. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to his family, neighbors and co-workers.

DeAngelo Jermaine Taldon departed this life on June 4, 2020 in Boston, MA, the age of 33. He is survived by his mother Clarastine Ellis; his sister, Laneisha Ellis, a niece Shania Mabine and his children, Daiquan Hinnant; Damariana Taldon; Keyanni Gram; and Draque Taldon. He also leaves behind to mourn a maternal great-aunt Christine Williams of Long Island, NY, a maternal uncle Charlie Ellis of Memphis, TN, and a paternal uncle Blendell Taldon of Mobile, Al. He also leaves to cherish his memory, god-parents, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and close friends.
