Deacon Richard Douglas was a special gentle. One who would give without thinking about himself. One whose warmth, wisdom, and humor has earned him respect of his family, spiritual brothers, sisters, and friends. He enjoyed his hobbies of painting, drawing, writing, fixing, and making sure his family knew the rules of safety at home. If he could have had a fire drill every month he would.

His father, Benjamin was 100 years old when he died in Montserrat, West Indies. Richard had spot for his wife, Cecile. He always wanted to die before her because he knew just how much she took good care of him, and no one else could take her place. His grandchildren, Ken-Lee and Narisha were a delight to him!
His favorite song was Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine every time he testified. He was beloved by his church family, The Glorious Church of Jesus Christ, where he served as a faithful deacon and was lovingly known as Father Douglas. At the nursing home, on thing he loved to do was tell others about Jesus. He was not ashamed. On our last days of visiting, he was excited to see his family. He finally understood he was going to be a great-grandfather.
He told his daughter, Lillette, “Thank you for all you’ve done for me”, and to his grandson, he kissed him and said “I’m going home.” Not knowing to all of us that this would be the last time we would meet. But we have the assurance that we will meet each other again when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ calls us home
