After finishing her elementary school, she left her birthplace, Leogane to go to Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. There she met her husband-to-be Joseph Lafontant Benoit. They married on January 9, 1965. From their union, were born seven children.
Yolene was an excellent, irreproachable wife and a great mother. She was a very reserved person, always wanted to stay out of the public eye. Yolene had a big heart; she cared for others, especially those in great need. She was a devoted Christian, a hard worker, and a very compassionate person. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very young age. Yolene and her husband immigrated to the United States in the late seventies.
There, in Brooklyn, New York, she became a member of the French speaking Baptist church. In the eighties, the family moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she affiliated to Boston Missionary Baptist church. At that church, she was a member of Bethanie, a prayer meeting group until she became sick 4 years ago. Yolene went to be with her master, her maker, and her savior Jesus Christ in the early morning of December 16, 2019.
