LaCarr was born on February 20,1964 in North Chicago,Illinois to Emma Ricks and Michael McBride.
Later on,his mother and brother DarNell moved to Boston,MA.He graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and attended Mass College of Arts for an enjoyable period of time.
LaCarr better known as “Corky” or “Chicago” had a joy for dancing,singing,being the life of the party,the prankster,and the comedian.He enjoyed listening to music,roller skating,bike riding,cooking and reading.He also enjoyed taking care of his dog Benitio.Corky collected movies and albums including his idol Diana Ross.Anyone who knew him recognized his love for expressing himself with colors and style.He also was a poet and had poems published in Boston newspapers.He was a photographer and loved taking family photos.
LaCarr didn’t have any children but, he treated all of his nieces and nephews like they were his own.He helped raise his two twin nieces that he called ,”His little stars “as well as his nephew Kashre’ Ricks.
Corky survived by his mother Emma and father Michael, his four brothers Darnell, Jimmy, Kashka Ricks and Michael(Deceased), his six sisters , Denise, Michele, Normajean ,Cathy , Kim, and Chandra .He helped care for seven nephews ,Darnell Jr., Lashaw ,Jovany ,Kashre’,Joshua ,Jaden ,and Kashka Jr. and lastly his four nieces ,Deda’Nell, Deja’Nell,Nafisa ,Jazyln and his sister in law Sunshine.
Regardless of Corky’s struggles ,he still managed to live a carefree life style filled with endless memories and laughter .”He was a rock and helped everyone out in his family.”His laugh ,his jokes ,his smile ,and his touch will be missed tremendously.
