Michelle was a part of various community and social groups and was very active within her own community. She was a fan of all music especially Reggae and loved Tarrus Riley.
Shelly was always traveling in and outside of the country; of all places she loved traveling to Jamaica. Michelle was a shoe queen and fashionista. She was always finding a new adventure. More often than not you could find Michelle being supportive at a community function. No one was more resourceful than Michelle Jones. She had a kind and giving heart and would always have something to give you. She was many things for many people. Some call her, their doctor /nurse because of all the home remedies she knew. Others called her lawyer/therapist because of all the advice and counsel she would provide so willingly. As a walking “jack of all trades” Michelle had connections everywhere and with all walks of life. Loved ones have said they would not be surprised if she owned a private island and didn’t tell anyone.
To her kids dismay Michelle was a cat lover and her children made sure one never stuck around for too long. Michelle was a genuinely happy person and would often greet you with a loving “Hey boo.” When describing Michelle loved ones have expressed that “she was everything” and “she’s royal”. A fond memory involves the infamously dubbed Old Lady Gang (O.L.G.) one of the many groups Michelle was associated with. The O.L.G. crew was also known as the neighborhood watch within the community, where she knew everything that was going on. Not only was she a part of her own community O.L.G. crew, she was the leader of the family Old Lady Gang crew.
She was always positive. She never let anything keep her spirit down. She never fed off of any negative energy nor held grudges. She was a savvy traveler and would pack ten weeks early. Michelle was loyal to the soil, even while going through her trials and tribulations she ensured that others were ok. Her troubles did not disrupt her peace. She maintained true to herself and true to who she has always been, a very helpful, loving, caring person; and if she didn’t have the answers or couldn’t help, she would always point you in the right direction.
Michelle lives on through her children Deshon Jones Sr., Andreya Jones, and Neveyeah Hamilton. She is survived by her youngest brothers Ezel Charles Jones of Boston and James Johnson of Harrisburg, PA. Her grandchildren Danaejah and Deshon Jr. Jones. A host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and an abundance of family and friends.
Michelle will be remembered for her loving spirit, her giving nature, her overt compassion,
May God Bless and Keep you All.
