Obituary for Clara Delois Polite

Clara Delois Polite was born on January 29, 1943 in Cordova, South Carolina to the late Allen and Helen Curry. Clara was the 9th child of fourteen children (Yes Fourteen). She attended Norway High school in South Carolina, and later married her childhood sweetheart Oliver Polite in October of 1962. They eventually migrated to New York City and raised five children where Clara further her education in the Nursing field. After the lost of her husband Clara and her children moved further North to Boston, MA where she resided with several of her family members.

After moving to Boston Clara continued her career in the Nursing field over forty years working several jobs to provide for her family. She was a long standing member of Concord Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses Health Unit and a volunteer for the food pantry. Clara also became a member of the Bay State Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star Nefertiti Chapter 11 (OES) for over 25 years.

Her dedication to love and nurture family and friends was her passion, she always loved a good time; cooking, entertaining, western movies, traveling and family functions. Her house was always filled with many friends and family throughout her years and almost every kid on the block love coming to Aunt Tardy's house. In the last several months her health began to take a turn, which was the beginning of the toughest battle she had to fight. Clara fought her last battle and won her road to victory, no more pain, no more suffering. You are and always will be tremendously missed. Love You Mama….

Clara leaves a legacy of love and memories behind to cherish; her devoted Daughter Tracy, and beloved Sons Terry (SC), Herman, Ernest, and Tony.Generous Son-in-law Anthony Jackson, beautiful Daughter-in-laws Shonda, and Barbara (SC). Her precious eighteen Grandchildren; burst of sunshine adorable twelve Great Grandchildren; three (Golden) Sisters Lessie (NYC), Doretha, and Delores (SC), two Spunky Sister-in-laws Susan and Carol, and one Handsome brother Henry, five wonderful Godchildren, and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and truly blessed friends.

Clara was preceded in death by her precious baby girl Claretha, parents Helen and Allen, eight brothers James, Gino, Albert, David, Joseph, Quillie, Herman,Wilbert, and one sister Nora. She will see you all soon.

There will be a Viewing on Monday March 18, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 O’clock Concord Baptist Church 180 Blue Hill Avenue, Milton, MA 02186

Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park, MA
