Sylvester was born in Manchester Jamaica November 2, 1943 To Leonard and Loretta Frances-Bailey. Sylvester was a loving husband and father and had a true passion for music. He was one of the bravest and strongest people we will ever know.
Sylvester quickly learned how to be an entertainer and a people's person. He had a pure servants heart. He wanted to please the people around him and had a true love for cooking and serving people. Sylvester loved to cook all different types of food and was always engrossed in his music.He worked as a painter for many years until he finally retired, however he worked at a variety of jobs throughout his life..
Sylvester was well known for his sense of humor and his hospitality was enjoyed throughout the community. Sylvester would give his last to anyone in need and was very passionate about those close to him. In 2013 he married the love of his life (whom he called Sugar) and from that union, he combined his 3 children with the 7 that he inherited and he loved and cherished them all very much.
Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Loretta Bailey, sisters, Daphne Hall, Merlyn Davis and Caroline Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Lena Bailey his son Jason Bailey, step -sons William (Sandrene) Odom, Larry (Allice) Odom, and Ricky (Patricia) Odom, Albertha (Albert) Holloway, Dolores Odom and Diane (Harry) Williams and his brother Glentis (Bonnie) Bailey and sisters Louise Foster, Lynette (Nelmuth) Love.
Sylvester was loved by so many and leaves a host of grandchilden, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Although Sylvester has moved on, his death has impacted many of us and he will live in our hearts forever.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 O’clock at Riley-Antoine Funeral Home 171 Humboldt Ave., Dorchester, MA 02121
