Obituary for John Everett
Was born to the late Mary Everett McIntosh and Ralph Waller of Harrisburg, PA. He attended Harrisburg public schools as a child and later attended South Philly High School. In 1967, John joined The US Marines and served in the Korean War. After returning home for one year John joined the US Army. After serving time with the US Army, John worked as a construction worker for many years until he finally found his passion with the Salvation Army. John devoted his career to the Salvation Army until his retirement as a Manager in 2012.
John was affectionately known as Teete to his family and friends. He enjoyed playing the lottery and going to Foxwoods Casino as well as sharing time with his loved ones. John loved fashion and could always been seen wearing the latest fashions with his signature Stacy Adam shoes and Kangol hats.
John leaves to mourn his estranged wife Shelia Brown-Everett of Harrisburg, PA, his son John Albert Everett, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA and two grandchildren, John Albert Everett 3rd of Harrishburg, PA and Aiesha Everett of Philadelphia, PA. His siblings Candice Scott Everett of Beverly, MA, Robert Everett of Boston, MA, Jefferson Everett of Harrisburg, PA, Bonnie Ibeh (Austin) of Tewksbury, MA, William Everett of Harrisburg, PA and beloved cousin Priscilla Everett Jackson of Harrisburg, PA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. As well as his long time companion Janice Lemons of Springfield, MA and step-daughter Latoya Lemons of Stoughton, MA.
John is preceded in death by his parents Mary Everett-McIntosh and Ralph Waller as well as his brother Isaiah Everett, sister Bridgett Ann (Everett) Ely-Williams, brother-in-laws Rudolph Scott and Willie Williams, his nephew James Everett, great niece Melissa Rene Key and great nephew Sean Ely.
There will be a Viewing on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00am at Riley-Antoine Funeral Home 171 Humboldt Ave., Dorchester, MA 02121
Interment: St. Michael Cemetery.
