Jessie Thomas (Hill)
Jessie L. Thomas, 90, of Dorchester passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Jessie or “Nana” as she was affectionately known, was born on March 2, 1927 in Marietta, Georgia. She was the youngest of 10 children born to the late William and Adella (Sim) Hill of Georgia.

She passed these beliefs along to her children and grandchildren. Jessie also joined the New Hope Baptist Church where she remained a loyal member for almost 6 decades.
Jessie was a consummate homemaker who prided herself on a beautiful and welcoming home. She could always be found in her kitchen preparing a home cooked meal, cake or pie. Jessie’s homemade macaroni and cheese was always a family favorite and impressed many others at church functions and office pot lucks. No one left Jessie’s home without being offered a meal and some fresh lemonade or iced tea. Family meant everything to Jessie “Nana” Thomas. To her, “life” was “family” and to live life was to love and care for family. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother and friend. Jessie was always kind and never short on words of encouragement.
