Martha Williams
Martha was born May 7, 1949 to parents Horace Mims and Essie Mae Mims in Elba, Alabama. Martha completed her schooling at Mulberry High School in Elba. She relocated to Boston, MA in 1966 where she met and married her husband, Jack Williams who preceded her in death. Martha was a member of the Full Gospel Baptist Church until later years when she began studying with Jehovah's Witnesses. Martha loved taking care of people, she worked for many years as a Nurses Assistant at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in West Roxbury, MA. where she made many close and long lasting friendships.
Martha was always a spiritual person but she was most happy when she learned that God's name was Jehovah.All that she talked about was her new found faith and hope She loved and trusted in Jehovah for the rest of her life. Martha loved being with family and friends. She loved to cook and feed everyone around her. She loved singing and dancing always leading the family in songs and making sure everyone was in tune. She was extremely kind and generous with her love and everything that she had.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Essie Mims, two sisters Elouise Mims and Louise Mims and two brothers Robert Mims ( Vivian Harris) and Jerry Mims (Rose) She leaves behind two brothers Eddie Earl Mims( Jean Mims), Larry Mims ( Jackie Ashley) and John Pruitt. Three sisters Betty Williams ( Roosevelt Williams), Essie Mearl Mims ( Burt) and Mary Mims (Teri Williams), And Gwender Arekhandia (Idosa Arekhandia), a very close friend Ethel Taylor and a host of nieces and nephews
There will be a Viewing on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 11:00 to 12:00pm followed by Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at Riley-Antoine Funeral Home 171 Humboldt Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02121
Interment: Oak Lawn Cemetery.
