Obituary for Ebony Morris
Ebony Morris made her beautiful, and courageous entrance into this world on Wednesday, April 11, 1990 to Lael Morris and Larinso Myers in Boston, Massa-chusetts. Soon after, the matriarch of the Myers family, her Great Aunt, Edith Myers Dorch became a strong parental figure in Ebony’s life. Ebony attended Charles Street African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she enjoyed singing in the youth choir.
Ebony was a compassionate, generous, and caring individual who often placed the needs of others before herself. She was an avid reader, excellent cook, and enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Ebony attended Epiphany Middle School where her principal and teacher described her as a young person, painfully aware of the inequities in the world, and a champion for justice. She was a fierce advocate for the underdog, never allowing anyone to be bullied or diminished in her presence. Ebony loved deeply and was unwaveringly loyal to those she loved. She was someone you could count on to be there in your time of need.
Ebony then attended Codman Academy High School and then went on to Bunker Hill Community College where she was pursuing her Associates Degree. Ebony had many dreams, goals, and aspirations, and often talked to friends and family members about her mission to finish college so that she could become a lawyer and help advocate for foster youth like herself. Furthermore, Ebony was motivated to write a memoir, build businesses, and help those in need. Ebony was also passionate about fashion, hair care, and loved changing up her look to match her style.
Ebony was talented, unique, and lived life to the best of her ability. Ebony’s motto was, “Live life to the fullest, even when life feels difficult.” She was family oriented, strong willed, and was quite fierce!
Ebony gained her angel wings at the age of 27 on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones. She will forever be missed and is survived by her Mother Lael Morris, Father Larinso Myers, Great Aunt Edith Myers Dorch, Second Mothers: Cecilia Joseph, Gillian Van-Deft, Michelle Gomez Sanchez, Foster Parents: Benjamin and Sarah Cain, Siblings: Tiffany Morris-Smith (Jamal), Mallory Morris (Jackie), Amnoni, Kael, Kevina , Shelby, Anthony Saunders (Brenda), Larinso, Hakim Johnson (Dana), Jennifer, & a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends and her beloved dog Angel.
