Obituary for Joshua Briggs

Joshua Terel Briggs, son of Sandra Briggs and Gordon Briggs was born on December 2, 1994 in Boston, MA departed this life on October 17, 2017. He received his education in the public schools of Boston and was currently in the process of obtaining his GED.

Joshua was baptized on December 2, 2001 at the age of seven at Morning Star Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and the Christian Youth Ministry.

Joshua loved to eat, spend time with family and friends, watch movies and listen to music. Some of his favorite foods including buffalo wings, pizza, cheeseburgers and glazed honey buns with peanut butter. He was known for his generosity, kindness, infectious personality and beautiful smile. His favorite movies included Men In Black, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Home Alone and Child’s Play. One of things that Josh was most proud of was obtaining his yellow belt in the martial art of GOSHI- SHUN.

Josh was not a big fan of mowing the lawn, shoveling the snow, and various other chores; however he was an avid wrestling fan. Getting paid was another story; he didn’t mind working, he held many jobs and his last position was as a waiter at Creative Catering where he was able to flash his smile to the guests. Anyone that knew Josh knows that he had an impeccable memory and could remember birthdays and events like no other. His love for life, family, and friends and million dollar smile will never be forgotten and will always remain in our hearts.

The life and memory of Josh shall long be remembered by his mother, Sandra Briggs; father, Gordon Briggs; sisters, Crystal Briggs, Monique Briggs, Shadae Briggs & Cassandra Briggs. Grandmother Laverne Swan; nephews, Aidan & Jacob Briggs; niece, Abria Briggs; and hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

There will be a Viewing on Thursday, 10/26/2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 O’clock at Morning Star Baptist Church 1257 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan, MA 02126

Final disposition: St. Michael Crematory, Boston, MA
