Jean S. Scott was born on July 6, 1944 to the late Moses and Elsie Barbosa at Morton hospital in Taunton, MA.
Jean departed this side of Heaven on Friday, September 15, 2017 at home with her husband Cle and son John in the room beside her!
Jean was raised in Wareham & Roxbury and she attended and graduated from Timothy High School in Roxbury, MA. She later furthered her education by attending a trade school where she studied electronics and engineering.
Jean later met and married her soulmate, Clester Scott, of Boston MA and they were proud parents of their blended family. Five children: the late Regina Perry, John I. Perry, Jr., Tyrone & Lamar Callahan & Renee Callahan-Strong; eight grandchildren, John I. Perry, III, Tre'Jean & Jayden, Smith; Isaiah, Micah, Sarah, Malachi & Joshua Callahan; and one great grandchild, Caleb Callahan.
One son-in-law, Edward Strong, Jr., and one daughter-in-law, Deneen L. Callahan, One granddaughter in law, Ana Laura Callahan.
She worked many years for the Raytheon company, as a welder-electrician, and she retired from the Boston Public schools, Lee Academy, in 2013 because she let them bad kids run her out!
Jean loved her family! And after every party, she would say, "this is the last one" but prior to saying that, she would also say I'm just going to cook a little something. However, her interpretation of a little something, was cooking enough to feed her two favorite teams, the Boston Red Sox & the Patriots!
Jean loved to clean! In particular starting in the 70s Franklin Hill projects mopping the hallway floors and always washing clothes.
You could hear her shuffle around that HOT Hazelton Street house with those slippers and she had to have her cup of tea or two and then she wasn't so grouchy! All through the day, all you could hear Jean say was "Cle ...Cle ...Cle... "and when he didn't answer, it turned into "Clester"!
Jean Loved Diana Ross and her favorite song by her was Upside down!
" Our Friendship "
Jean and her special girlfriends got together to play cards on every occasion they could. They loved to cook, eat and dance as they laughed and had fun together drinking their wine. At their Christmas club, Birthday celebrations and holiday gatherings, you could be sure to hear Jean say "MY house next". She will be sorely missed by her circle of girls!
