Obituary for Clarence Edwards II
The late Clarence T. Edwards was born on March 17, 1940 in Boston, MA to the late Odry Hood and Clarence T. Edwards. He was given his heavenly crown on March 1, 2017 at Milton, Hospital.
He worked at Mass General Hospital for 27 years where he retired. He attended Zion Temple Holy Church and was a faithful member there for 18 years. He served on the usher board, sung on Zion's Men Choir (his favorite song was God’s Got It), he served on the Trustee Board and the Pastors Aid Board. His favorite shows were Bonanza (westerns) and Jaws. He also had a love for deep-sea fishing in Cape Cod.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife Nancy Edwards whom he joined in holy matrimony 18 years ago on December 28, 1998; four sons: Clarence T. (Kathleen) Edwards III, Deric A. Edwards, Arthur S. (Monica) Edwards; Dominic Edwards; two daughters: Robin A. Edwards and Kimberly Edwards; four step-children: Linda Prater, Charles (Cynthia) Holcombe, Jacqueline (Curtis) Spears, Jeffrey (Lou) Holcombe, Sheila Holcombe; six brother-in-laws; four sister-in-laws, twenty-one grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; God-daughters: Anne Bond, Cortina Santos, Renna Brown-Fuller; God-son: Gerald Daughtry; Best friend Bobby Henton; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a Viewing on Friday, 3/10/2017 from 10:00 to 11:00am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 O’clock at Zion Temple Holy Church, 79 Stanton St., Dorchester, MA 02124.
Interment: Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA
