Grace McGauley was born in Trenton, NJ on the 31st of August, 1955 to John and Louise McGauley (deceased). When Grace was young, she adopted the lifelong nickname “Washawn” which she is most identified as among family and friends. She was known for her fun sense of humor, wittiness,curious nature and intelligence. In her younger years, Grace enjoyed good music and enhancing her mechanical skills. To develop her mechanical interests, she attended Job Corps.
Grace grew up in Bronx, NY. Before leaving the Bronx permanently, she birthed her only child, Wahkie McGauley, who she is survived through. As her only son, Wahkie was his mother’s pride and joy. Grace was also laid back, forgiving and easy to talk to. If her loved ones needed an ear, she would listen. She loved her family and was always willing to help in any way she could.
Grace holds a special place in the hearts of many. Aside from her son, she leaves behind her 10 siblings John, Catherine, Douglas (deceased),Steven, (deceased), Jeffrey, Jennifer, Nancy, Sharon, JoAnne and Iris. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed but her charm will be not be forgotten amongst those who knew and loved her.
There will be a Viewing on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm followed by Funeral Service at 4:00 pm at the Riley-Antoine Funeral Home, 171 Humboldt Ave., Dorchester, MA 02121.
